In The Beautiful People New Orleans, the first short story in a new series, Cheril N. Clarke introduces us to four intriguing characters who will propel the reader into a provocative world filled with sophisticated naughtiness. Nontraditional in its presentation, The Beautiful People follows a close group of friends who love to travel, meeting up in a different city every other month for a weekend of exploration, partying, and a much-needed break from the daily grind of their careers. From the city of New Orleans, this installment acquaints us with a high-end tailor with a disdain for the common man, a fashion photographer riding a narcotic seesaw, an accountant with a penchant for flirting and flings, and an haute entrepreneur who is struggling with secret desires of her own. The Beautiful People subtly pushes moral boundaries and challenges preconceived notions of perfection.

The Beauty of New Orleans never seemed this provocative!

Author Cheril N. Clarke is simply brilliant in the first short story of her collection “The Beautiful People: New Orleans.” This tale has it all: Emotions, Parties, Challenges and even Moral Boundaries are pushed to the limits of what the imagination can conjure. All four of the characters are developed perfectly, in an engaging manner told from a POV perspective that allows the reader to relate to their personalities and unique lifestyles. Not an easy task to accomplish by an author, yet Clarke does it the ease of a smooth martini.

My next vacation will definitely have to be to New Orleans, even though I felt that I have already visited after reading this story. The descriptiveness is far and away some of the best I have read as of late. It is filled with depth and vivid imagery that will place you in the center of all the action. Total read time for me was about three hours, which I managed to put down over the weekend. It was fun, thought provoking and left a smile on my face that turn sad when it came to an end. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the collection and recommend to everyone.

The Beautiful People New Orleans edition by Cheril N Clarke Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Just when you think you know what to expect from Clarke she goes and changes things up. Even the cover art is in a new direction, putting all of the main characters on display. They're not quite cartoons, but they're not quite human either. They're something else, as is this short story--that isn't really a short story (in the common sense). If you want the standard fare then this might not be for you, but if you want to be hooked from the first sentence by rich, vivid characters and risqué scenes then you will love this! Clarke's writing in this is BEAUTIFUL. Her sentences are eloquent, her passages are lush and her transitions are seamless!
The Beautiful People New Orleans follows four fashion-conscious friends on their mini vacation in post-Katrina New Orleans. I really enjoyed the scenic descriptions and how well developed each character was. It took no time for me to care about them. I sort of felt like I was on vacation with them! There's just such a nice mix of culture, comedy, sex, and potential for drama in this installment and I'm definitely intrigued enough to be looking forward to their next adventures in Las Vegas. Recommended.
This was one of the worst books that I have EVER read! I read it in about 20 minutes and was looking crazy because it was all over the place. Don't waste your dollar on this, save for something else like a soda.
'The Beautiful People' series is fantastic! I loved reading about Donovan, Colin, Vanessa and Yen's erotic adventures. I can't wait to see what the gang does next. Vanessa and Yen's relationship reminds me of the best foreplay you can imagine; the intensity keeps building and building. I can't wait to read about their final explosion.
The Beautiful People New Orleans follows a group of elitist friends who are more concerned with the superficial than intermingling with the commoners. They have an `I have arrived, and everyone had better recognize' attitude. And as they push moral boundaries, we are reminded that no matter how snooty people appear to be, it's usually a smokescreen to cover one's insecurities or indiscretions.
I have been a long time fan of Cheril N. Clarke, and I feel honored to be able to make the first review of her latest release, The Beautiful People New Orleans.
Although this is a short story, Ms. Clarke is thorough in her character introductions, giving the reader a sense of each individual, while still leaving room for each character to reveal more of themselves with each city the group travels to. I am most intrigued about Colin, who seems to be the heartbeat of the group. I am anxiously awaiting to see what kind of situations he may stumble across in Sin City Las Vegas, the next installment of the series.

Ms. Clarke has a very unique method of storytelling that literally PULLS you in from the first paragraph, and carries you all the way through to the very end. Those of you who have read her previous works know exactly what I am talking about. If this is your first Cheril N. Clarke experience, you are in for a treat! Start with this short story, and while you are waiting for the next installment of The Beautiful People, make sure you check out one of her previous works. You too will become a lifelong fan!
I get SO disappointed at fiction when I take chances with stories there. But the reason I keep buying them is for the diamond in the rough and that is what The Beautiful People truly is! This story is unique, it is biting in the accuracy of its characters (you feel as if you are watching them in a play more than reading about them - Seriously, the interplay dialog between the main characters is spot on! And I spent a few years in New Orleans about a decade ago and it's obvious that Cheril N. Clark (the author) knows the city inside and out. The sexual tension throughout the story keeps it moving and at the end we learn that more installments of The Beautiful People will be coming - and I'll be buying them.
I loved "The Beautiful People New Orleans!" If you're looking for a book to read tonight before bed then you need to check this one out! It's like Sex and the City + 50 Shades of Gray. The characters are developed so well that in the short time that you are introduced to them and propelled into their world you quickly feel like you know them. Each of the characters that you follow through the book has their own desire/issue that they are living with. I love the see how each of them select their prospective dates. Then of course the book is a lot of fun because they are on vacation in New Orleans. I also loved reading about them prowling around the city. I could visualize everything that the author write, because the book was so descriptive and the characters were so well developed. Everything is wrapped up in a great, little short story that I read in one night! I love that I could start it and finish it tonight. I can't wait to read another book by Cheril N. Clarke! I'm hooked!
